Cockroach ControlPrevention & Sanitation
Being successful in controlling cockroaches requires prevention and sanitation. Vacuuming up cockroach feces and skins will help decrease allergies that are caused by cockroaches. Cockroach feces have been shown to increase the instance and severity of asthma, and even acknowledged by the EPA as asthma triggers. There is an aggregation pheromone in roach feces that attracts more roaches. Scrubbing with hot, soapy water will help decrease the amount of aggregation pheromone.
Prevention and sanitation can be divided into four categories: exclusion, elimination of water sources, elimination of food, water and harborage.
